Eat Pizza Review

So I promised a review of Eat Pizza and was like, where the hell should I post it? Too long for a facebook status update, blah blah blah. Anyway so after a year I'm reviving my blog for the humble Italian favourite. Let's do this!

December 1 2002 was the last time that I ate any animal products out of choice. Some douche bags have attempted to slip it into my word hole by stealth since then but I think the ratio is me-23148536639, satan worshipping meat eaters-3.

So when you see such satanists with culinary cuisines like a margarita pizza, you can't help but drool. The pizza box quickly turns into your 'window into weight gain', the cheese seems to stretch forever and most importantly, you don't need to order a hybrid version of something from the menu where you have to emphasise 'no cheeeeeeeese'.

But fear no more, as there is an alternative. Eat Pizza is that place you drive past on your way to knifepoint. I've chicken-necked it many a time even before I knew of their vegan options and when we dropped some friends home in Yarraville, we seized the chance!

Don't get fooled by this post, there is basically nothing (other than the takeaway menu) in the shop that lets you know that there is vegan cheese, ham and salami options. I've since checked out their website which mentions this but you have to do the searching.

After much deliberation (mostly due to sheer excitement) Nicole and I chose a vegetarian with pineapple and a margarita, both with cheezly.

People, these photos do not do these pizzas justice. They were everything and more of what we hoped for. Pizzas are supposed to be oily, greasy, filling yet not sickening- check, check, check and check. But specifically:
The base- cripsy crusts and evenly cooked.
Cheese- ample (and I mean ample) and melted to perfection.
Vegetables- fresh, numerous and no sign of moisture that would cause sogginess.

All this for $2.50 more than the regular price of $10 and $9 respectively. As Nicole just said 'the best thing you could possibly eat while wearing trackies'.

Other pros for this place include:
Spotless shop front
Cute old guy in the kitchen; and
Home delivery from 5pm 7 days

So should you check this place out? Your damn fuckin right you should! And it don't matter if your black or white, vegan or satan, bogan or eastern suburbs toff, this place is for you.

I have a slight obsession with DSLR video and really want to get into it. I have my eyes firmly fixed on a 7D, but this also requires money. So, I until I solve that problem my film making will have to come from other means. Enter time lapses. With my 450D battery on charge, I downloaded the new and free iTimelapse for the iPhone.

Here is the very firs take, not very interesting but the capability of this app is!

A new monthly venue has popped up in Melburn- Thick as Thieves. Its been around before in a few different guises, and hopefully it goes ok because if last night and the G&T's were anything to go by, it passed the test.

Managed to snap Benny Page's band Craterface who only get better every time I see them.

Spring Cleaning

Caught the cleaning bug today (well halfa one anyway). So I did a bit of it. The backyard looked like a launderette and I swept half of my hair up from the floor in the bathroom.

Got asked to shoot The Scores last night. Nice guys, good company and one sweaty set. Decided on B&W because the lighting was terrible! Nothing quite like monochrome to hide my amateur skills.

Gone Campin'

Long weekends often mean domes, dirty fingernails, gas stoves and nocturnal animals. Yep we went a campin'!

Team Separation separated from the start, but caught up mid afternoon Saturday. The 89 Mazda did it in 2 parts, to Bairnsdale for Friday, while blue Carolla opted for a sleep in some Tyres. I waxed lyrical about how animals don't relate to music as much as humans do. Made sense to me after 7 beers in the car, Aimee wasn't as convinced. Nevertheless I provided some sound entertainment and the lovely people at Coopers spared me a hangover. Bless.

Croajingolong National Park was the destination. Home to some of the most beautiful coastline Australia has to offer, not to mention so many different species of birds.

Beach walks, water sports, frisbee cricket, chip eating and apologising to Luke were the key activities. Tarpaulins were raised using inspiration from coffee mug slogans, and luckily no vomit dared to rear its ugly head. All in all 4 days of time well spent getting sand in places where it doesn't belong and enjoying it.

Futsal Tournament

Last weekend I hung out and watched some really fun and skilled futsal players, who were none other than the Liberian homeless world cup team members! Boy could these girls play!

They were playing to help raise money for soccer programs in Cambodia. I took a few snaps which were pretty much the first sport photos I have ever taken.

Oh yeah, there was a ball juggling competition and they won that too. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the park with beers afterwards.

I also promised to make this ages ago but never got around to making it. So basically Nicole has this fantastical way of getting into bed. Its half fall, half gymnastics, all Ducat.

Lazy Sundays and overpriced cafes

Had a Sunday mission of food, coffee opshops and extravagance today. Spawned by promise of unknown treasures at the Northcote High school car boot sale, downed a coffee, gave Max some love and pedaled my bike across town. The only thing a came away with was a vegan choc muffin from some cute kids with their mum selling their tasty treats form the oven. Need for coffee number 2. I then cruised around looking at second hand clothes and some choice architecture books in Brunswick, ended up buying a grey shirt for work and Peter Singer's new book about world poverty. I read about the poor over some over priced salad and yet another coffee.

Pinging off my head raver style I trundled home where Aimee, some trashy Applebox viewing, corn chips and beers ensued. 92 minutes later the vegie bar called us from over the highway, 'Come forth. Eat until you feel sick. Listen to simpleton punx try to work how much $40 is divided three ways is.' So we did. Top it off with some wildberry sorbet and you have a day packed with one theme- me, me, me!!!

Will Mondayitis rear its ugly head tomorrow? Shake the magic eight ball and see! All signs point to yes. NOOOOOOOOO!
